In an effort to promote highway safety and inform the general public about the trucking industry, the North Carolina Trucking Association, through the NC Trucking Association Foundation, formed the North Carolina Road Team. The Road Team consists of commercial truck drivers who excel at their profession and are dedicated to safety, courtesy, and responsibility.
The men and women selected each year to serve on the North Carolina Road Team must be full time commercial truck drivers with excellent safe driving records, and must have the ability to relate the positive safety aspects of the transportation industry and its importance to a vibrant economy.
Presentations include school assemblies, driver education classes, business events, civic gatherings, safe driver banquets, driver meetings, and career events. Nominations to participate must be received by March 31st each year. Road Team members serve one-year terms, but "alumni" frequently assist with large events, such as the North Carolina State Fair. Judges that select the NC Road Team each year include representatives of the NC State Highway Patrol, its Motor Carrier Enforcement Section, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and the Governor's Highway Safety Program.

Harold is a local P&D driver from the Greensboro area. He is a 21 year safe driver with Wilson and seven-time NC TDC Champion. Harold won the Pre-trip award at the National TDC in 2004 and is an Eagle Scout. He and his wife Robin have two children Sommer and Spencer and live in Kernersville.
