SAFETY DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR
On August 1st, 2nd and 3rd 2008 the NCTA Safety Management Council held it’s annual Safety Conference at the Grand Dunes Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. Mr. Chris Younce of Cable Transport Inc. (a division of CommScope) of Catawba, NC was the recipient of the Safety Director of the Year award.

Chris has been employed with Cable Transport, Inc. for 26 years. He began his career as an OTR driver, was promoted to Driver Trainer and currently holds the position of Safety and Compliance Manager. He became a member of the SMC in 1995 and was an instrumental member in getting the Western Chapter established in 1998. He recently served as chairman of the council finishing his term in 2007 and as a past chairman, now serves on the Advisory to the Chairman committee.
